Dr. Midnight (PG)

Dr. Elizabeth or Beth for short, Chapel, is also known by the alias Dr. Midnight. She was a simple medical student, whose mentor happened to be a doctor and a superhero - Dr. Charles MacNider aka Dr. Mid-Nite. (Note the different spelling.) However, after MacNider's death, Beth is blinded by an oxygen explosion in her hospital. It is at this point that Beth discovers she has the same ability as her late mentor. While in darkness she can see with perfect clarity even though she's blind in light.

Although she was originally introduced during DC's Earth-Two era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. Although, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and no longer apply.
