Kamala Khan or Ms. Marvel was first introduced in Marvel comics in 2013. She is a Muslim Pakistani-American teenager from New Jersey. She loves comic books and super heroes especially the Avengers and Captain Marvel.
She developed her powers after she was going home after a party. Kamala was exposed to Terrigen Mists. Terrigen Mists is a gas made by a geneticist named Randac with the purpose of accelerating genetic advances to those who have the "inhuman" gene. Kamala therefore is a descendant of the Inhumans. When she was exposed to the Terrigen Mists she was encased in a cocoon where her powers where developing. In the process she was having visions of her idol Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel asked her "Who do you want to be?" Kamala replied: "I want to be you." As a result she was transformed into the Captain Marvel. Kamala finds out that one of her abilities is shape shifting because she transformed in her original form after being in the form of Captain Marvel. Her other powers are Agility, Elasticity, Healing, Size Manipulation, and Super Strength. She calls herself Ms. Marvel
She not only deals with villains but also deals with her religious duties with her family, like her father having very high expectations of her and her very religious brother and mother.
